Innocence :

Picture
Originally our founding fathers set up a system which was designed to free innocent men from the dangers of the criminal justice system.  It was set up so that if the state could not prove every bit of the offense against you, then you were to be set free.

Today however, our system is starting to confuse convictions for justice.  It's no wonder that
our nation leads the world in prisoners.  We have 5% of the world's population and 25% of the world's prisoners.  People are exonerated from death row all the time.  These people are put there by lying witnesses, lazy cops, or bad attorneys.  If you are innocent, do not let yourself be caught in this cycle.  Do not be the next person to serve time for a crime you did not commit.

Do not confuse a bad situation with you being guilty.  The state is obligated to prove EVERY element of a crime before you are a guilty citizen.  Until then you are an innocent citizen.  If you have been charged with a crime and you believe that you should only be found guilty of a less serious crime, then you are innocent of what they are alleging.

FIGHT FOR THAT INNOCENCE!  This is one of the most precious liberties we have, the presumption of innocence.  Do not flush that away by signing a plea because your lazy attorney took the police at their word.  Do not be intimidated by a prosecutor who tells you that you don't need an attorney for this type of case.

This applies to felonies and misdemeanors.  Many times people will plea to a misdemeanor that they did not commit just to get the whole thing over with.  What they do not realize is that this is only the beginning.  They are in the system.  And the system will want you back.

Fight for your freedom.  Contact me if you believe you have been charged with a crime that you did not commit.
